Practices:
Day Practice
Held Monday and Wednesday 12-1 on Botany Lawns, these sessions are free, very relaxed and a great place to learn. We focus on acrobatics and object manipulation skills. These practices only occur during semester.
Fire
Every fortnight SURCAS runs a fire night at the Manning courtyard. This is FREE for members, $2 for access holders and $8 for non-members (fuel costs), and SURCAS provides fuel and fire toys. Don’t forget to wear cotton or other non-flammable materials! These sessions only occur during semester.
Aerials Classes
SURCAS runs two aerials classes during the week:
- Monday class run by senior SURCAS members Max, Lizzie and Martin which caters to absolute beginners. There is no fitness level requirement and each class costs $15/$19/$25 for member/access/non-access (during semester).
- Friday class run by aerials trainer Claire Reincastle which caters for more advance students. These classes cover trapeze, lyra and silks. Each class costs $15/$19/$25 for member/access/non-access (during semester).
Aerials Open Practise
This session caters for students in the aerials classes and more experienced members, to provide a chance to practice skills. No instructor is present, so only experienced members will be allowed to participate. The cost for these sessions is $8 for members/access/non-access (during semester). An enforcer must be present at these sessions.
